Best Time to Visit Hawaii and Save
Since the weather is wonderful all year, visit
when demand is low and save on the cost of
accommodations. Excluding holiday periods,
the least expensive time is: April through
mid-June; September through November. |

Save on Snorkeling
Dive in! Experiencing Hawaii’s underwater beauty shouldn’t be missed. Coral reefs attract over 450 tropical fish species, and many make their home in the protected marine sanctuaries of Oahu’s Hanauma Bay and the Big Island of Hawaii’s Kealakekua Bay. Unique opportunities are available on each island, and you’ll save if you take your snorkel gear instead of renting equipment on the islands where the rates are steep. And when
you pack your suitcase, surround the mask with clothes to protect the lens and place the fins near the outside to protect the delicate items in the center.

Do I need a rental car when I visit?
Waikiki: Only rent a car on individual
days when you want to explore on your own
outside of Waikiki. High parking fees will
hurt your budget with a rental car when
most attractions are either within walking
distance, accessible by bus or available
on sightseeing excursions. If you’re staying
outside of the Waikiki hotel area on Oahu,
you will want a car to get around during
your vacation.
The Bus, especially on Oahu, is a great way to get around to nearly every spot you'll want to visit, and it really saves. On the other islands, there is less-frequent service: Maui, Kauai, The Big Island of Hawaii.
Maui, Kauai, The Big Island of Hawaii:
Yes, you will want a rental car for your
entire stay.
