New Website Gives Voice to Arizona Residents on Current Legislation

Phoenix, Ariz., May 13, 2010. From the new immigration law to photo radar, recent legislative activity has Arizonans polarized and speaking out like never before. To help Arizonans be heard, AZLegislation.com was launched to enable citizens to share their thoughts, opinions and concerns about current legislative issues.  With an active community of members the site continues to grow.  Join us in the conversation!

The following are a few recent comments from discussions on the site:

On Speed Cameras to be Turned off in July -- Good News or Bad?

“This is a bad idea. Break the law; pay the consequences.” –cplake, 5/11/2010

“Great News. They are not appropriate on roads where speed limits are so poorly marked as they are in Southern AZ. Good riddance.” –rolden1, 5/6/2010

On SB 1070 – Arizona’s New, Controversial Immigration Law
“Let's be clear. Those people who come across the border without a work permit or a visa are illegal. Illegal means a crime has been committed. They don't want to accept that they have broken a law to get here.” –millercastle, 5/1/2010

“I don't even understand how this bill is legal? Isn't this racial profiling?” –jennmcq, 4/19/2010

In addition to providing a place for comments and conversation, the user-friendly site also lets people easily find contact information for legislators, plus it has interesting videos and interviews.

AZLegislation.com was developed by AAA Arizona, to provide a forum for the Arizona community to engage, collaborate, share and learn.

“This website provides a forum for voices to be heard,” said Linda Gorman, director of public affairs for AAA Arizona. “It offers citizens the opportunity to share opinions, engage in healthy dialogue and shape Arizona's legislative agenda.”
