Phoenix, Ariz., October 14, 2010. For more than 40 years, AAA has been entertaining and informing its members in print with its award-winning Highroads magazine, and now it’s taking its publication to the airwaves. The auto club has teamed up with long time Arizona media personality Dan Davis to bring viewers a new travel and lifestyle show, AAA Presents Highroads with Dan Davis.
Beginning Saturday, Oct. 16, AAA Presents Highroads with Dan Davis will air on KPNX-TV, Channel 12, from 4:30 to 5:00 p.m. The show will also air in Tucson and be available online via AAA.com.
“Dan’s enthusiasm and energy lend an exciting perspective to all the topics he explores,” said Mike Tully, president and CEO of AAA Arizona. “We are thrilled to have partnered with him to help bring the interesting and informative content of Highroads magazine to life.”
In each episode, Davis will discover different parts of Arizona as well other interesting destinations. The show will have a segment called the “Dan Cam,” made up of footage Davis took himself along his travels over the years. Additionally, AAA will provide consumer information and expert tips on a variety of topics including insurance, auto repair, travel and traffic safety.
Davis has written articles for Highroads magazine over the past year and a half, focusing on the people and places he discovered during his Emmy-award winning TV news days, and says returning to TV in this show format is the next logical step.
“I think this is the perfect partnership,” Davis said. “We're combining the resources and reputation of AAA and its Highroads magazine with my 32 years of television story-telling to create a first class show.”
