Competition Seeks Arizona’s Best Teen Auto Techs


WHAT:          
AAA and Ford are handing 20 Arizona high school students the keys to                       jumpstart their careers in the automotive repair industry at the                       Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills Competition.

 

                      At the competition, ten two-student teams from Arizona high schools

                      will race to identify and fix intentionally bugged 2010 Mercury Milan   

                      vehicles.

                      After diagnosing the vehicle and making repairs, teams must drive

                      across the finish line, where their accuracy and workmanship will be

                      judged.


WHEN:           
Friday, May 7, 2010. The competition will begin at 9:15 a.m.
                      The awards ceremony will take place at noon.

DETAILS:       Participating students advanced to the May 7 competition by achieving the  highest written exam scores in the state earlier this year.

 

The winning team will receive scholarships, prizes and represent Arizona at the National Finals in Dearborn, Mich., on June 13-15, 2010.
